From the A1

Leave A1 at the Bedale and Northallerton junction (Leeming Bar services) and follow the A684 West through Bedale towards Leyburn and Wensley.

Immediately after leaving Wensley on the A684 cross the River Ure and look out for a left turn signposted Carlton and Coverdale.

Take the turn and follow the road up the hill and into Coverdale.

After driving through Agglethorpe the next village is Melmerby.

Mile House East is the first house on the right hand side as you enter the village.

From the M1

Leave the M1 at Junc 37 and follow the A684 East through Sedborough, Hawes and onto West Witton (the village immediately before Wensley).

As you drive through West Witton you pass two pubs, The Wensleydale Heifer on the left followed by The Fox & Hounds on the right. Shortly after The Fox & Hounds look out for a discrete right turn signposted Melmerby and Carlton.

Take the turn and follow the switchback road over the tops to Melmerby Moor and down into Coverdale and Melmerby.

Follow the road through Melmerby until you reach a 'T' junction - turn left.

Mile House East is the second and last house on the left hand side.
